A Painted Hills Engagement by Jordan Voth Photography
KALEN + KYLE
This beautiful couple wanted their engagement photos out at one of the seven wonders of Oregon, the Painted Hills. Kalen, Owner and Artist of Clink and Kiss (go check out her work!!) and her beau Kyle, are adventure seekers from Oregon. So heading out to Eastern Oregon was the perfect way to capture their adventurous spirit for these photos. They hired Jordan Voth, a Seattle, Washington portrait and wedding photographer who captures this vibe so incredibly well for couples. If you don’t already follow him, you should! Go, follow him now…I’ll wait.
Quote from Jordan Voth about the shoot:
“I finally had a chance to check out the Painted Hills recently with Kalen + Kyle. This place has been on my “to do” list for a while and it was so awesome to finally see it in person. The different colors of the hills are so beautiful and just fascinating to look at. We caught it on a pretty wild day in terms of weather. We were met with some hail, rain, sun, more rain & more sun. We even got to see a rainbow over the hills. It was incredible. I can’t thank Kalen + Kyle enough for adventuring out there and putting up with the cold weather and mud (it was caked on to the bottom of our shoes like no other). Super stoked to photograph their wedding later on this year.”
The Painted Hills are one of the three units that comprise the John Day Fossil Beds. You can see millions of years of history revealed in the layers of mountains of earth, one color at a time. The hills get their name from the delicately colored stratifications*, or various geological eras in the soil, as you can see in these amazing engagement photos.
It is more than clear as to why we at Wedventure Magazine get so many submissions of engagements and styled shoots taken here. Their gorgeousness is truly Mother Nature showing off. And I am willing to bet that these photos by Jordan Voth will make you want to go see them for yourself in person.
