Halloween Post 1 of 2: Interview with a Vampire

 In Oregon Weddings, Styled Shoot
This Halloween styled shoot was inspired by the Anne Rice novel, “An Interview with a Vampire,” which was set in the 1700s in New Orleans. A time period full of sophistication, style, and French inspiration. For Trixie Ortiz, owner of YOUnique Event & Designs, there has always been a draw to vampire stories and movies. “I am drawn to the level of mystery, sensuality, timeless youth, and danger all entwined. In my opinion, that’s the start of a love story!” says Trixie.
When Trixie was scouting a location, she knew she wanted something that would lend well to the theme, but also enrapture elements of the Pacific Northwest. The chosen venue, known as “the Ruins”, is located in Hood River, Oregon. It is the home of an old pear cannery that was destroyed by fire in the 1950’s. Most of the building was lost, but what is left is now known as the Ruins. Trixie says, “I can’t thank my dream team of vendors who contributed to this shoot, and for Rachel Salisbury Photography magic behind the camera.”

“As if the night had said to me, ‘You are the night and the night alone understands you and enfolds you in its arms’ One with the shadows. Without nightmare. An inexplicable peace.”

“As a wedding planner and designer, I often dream of all the different styles of weddings I want to create. Sometimes those dreams are more of a darker, moodier style. And I know it takes a unique couple to have that vision as well. Our goal with a styled shoot is to inspire our couples to reach deep into their souls and create a wedding full of personality and style.”
